Bugkalot

The Bugkalot, also known as the Ilongot, are a Philippine tribe residing in the Southern Sierra Madre and Caraballo Mountains.

They are primarily located in Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, and the mountainous boundary between Quirino and Aurora provinces. Historically known as headhunters, the Bugkalot people prefer to live near rivers for sustenance and transport and speak their native language, while also having proficiency in Ilocano and Tagalog.
