Casiguran Dumagat
The Casiguran Dumagat, located in the San Ildefonso Peninsula of Aurora Province in Northeastern Luzon, offer a captivating glimpse into the interplay of language, culture, and origins.
Initially a hunter-gatherer group, their lifestyle has evolved, influenced by interactions with Casiguran lowlanders. While some have turned to fishing, a transformation from their traditional way of life, many have also embraced Christianity, departing from their animist beliefs. The community, once characterized by a nomadic existence, has transitioned to a more settled life in villages within the Casiguran area.
