Our Projects
Guinilayon
The Gilayon people, residing in Kalinga, North Luzon, Philippines, are renowned for their hospitality.
Their primary livelihood revolves around farming, particularly the practice of kaingin, which involves cultivating crops like rice, corn, and fruits. During various events such as fiestas, weddings, and graduations, the Gilayon people engage in tribal dances, accompanied by their distinctive instruments and ethnic attire. Men don "Bahag," while women wear "Tapis or Dinait." Traditional musical instruments like flutes and gongs still play a significant role in these occasions. While the younger generation has embraced modern clothing, some traditional rituals persist, particularly during planting seasons and other significant events.
