The Manide, also known as the Kabihug, holds a distinguished status as the oldest tribe in the Bicol Region, tracing their origins to prehistoric times.

They are considered relatives of the Agta or Aeta people, who inhabit the regions of Pampanga and Zambales. This deep-rooted connection underscores their ancient lineage and unique cultural heritage, which has endured through the ages in the rich tapestry of the Philippines' ethnolinguistic diversity.
